Tim Skeet

Chairman of Advisory Board

Tim Skeet has been active in banking in the City of London for nearly four decades with a strong background in debt capital markets. Having started learning the basics of credit and lending in the years before Big Bang, Tim went on to specialise in the financing of financial institutions. This included early work on securitisation and later he became an expert in the covered bond sector serving also on the Steering Committee of the European Covered Bond Council.

Over his career Tim has dealt extensively with banking regulations and capital requirements for banks from the earliest days of Basel I and worked at a series of leading investment banks covering clients all over Europe and across North America. He also advised regulators both in the UK and in the United States on aspects of mortgage finance and more recently has worked on aspects of banking resolution, chairing an industry study group.

He was on the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) board for six years and continues to serve there as a senior adviser, Vice-Chair to the Committee of the Regions and UK Chair. Tim is a visiting lecturer at Reading, and involved as a Liveryman with training and lecturing for the Worshipful Company of International Bankers. He also delivers the green bond training course for the Green Bond Principles Secretariat, is a frequent speaker at industry events and publishes articles on financial services related topics.

Tim speaks French and German and continues to work actively in the City in both an operational and advisory capacity.
